The Lockdown Episode..

We're talking about the current push for cashless, looking at predicted scenarios now playing out from a blogger's 'future dreams' and we talk a lot about Comets.. Comet Atlas, Comet Borisov and Comet Panstarrs.. messengers of the gods or all hype?

I had some interesting feedback about the Cashless article, I had believed that I was in a tiny minority in preferring to use cash - I've since discovered that actually, there's a quiet section of the community out there (UK at least) who have also been very affected in finances with the current push towards cashless. I'm going to put the references and links in here and it might be worth your while having a look through this report, it's an intriguing window into some of the financial habits and patterns that are now being subjected to the pressure to 'conform to the new norm'.

(Excerpt)
"Ma
rch 2019The Access to Cash Review – Final Report calls on the Government, regulators and banks to act now or risk leaving millions behind.
The Review’s action plan to protect cash access calls for:
  • Government and regulators to step in urgently to ensure cash remains viable
  • A “Guarantee to Cash Access” for all, including those in remote and rural areas
  • Those providing essential services to be required to allow consumers to pay by cash
  • A more efficient, effective and resilient wholesale cash infrastructure to ensure that cash remains viable as its use declines.
There is no society in the world which has yet gone ‘cashless’. But the lessons from those who are closer than us are clear: we need to plan now. In Sweden, we were repeatedly advised by central bankers, consumer groups and the cross-party commission exploring cash to plan now – because once their infrastructure had gone, putting it back was close to impossible. The Swedish government has recently agreed to ‘put the brakes on’ their shift to cashlessness because they are leaving people behind and need time to plan how to include everyone."

The featured music artist this week is Mike Harrison of The Anthrophobia Project with the track 'Ethereal Superconscious; Thinking, Remembering, Reacting'
Congratulations to Mike who recently got married in the middle of lockdown!

All in all, I won't echo the same banners that are currently being pushed, I'll opt for "Stay awake, stay grounded, stay centred."
These are crazy times...

Podcasts are important. I think that people do not see their importance, and it is not that great. If you are able to do podcasts in the future, then that is what I want to hear. I wish that I can become able to do it in the future as well. I seriously believe that I am deserving to be on a podcast in the future. I seriously have lots of things that I want to do in this life.
